Okay, so after my first 9mm Diode died I bought another, and so since I still have the lens from the original I think I will just sell the one I have now.

EDIT: this lens is COMPARABLE to the G1/G2 lenses. Thank you for the clarification Daguin&Blord.

I have kept it in the small bag that DTR sent it in, in fact I haven't even opened it since it arrived so there will be no scratches or anything. It is still inside the heatsink, but that is easy to remove. I mainly didn't take it out because my camera is bad at closeups, and I knew if I took it out I would have to prove that I didn't scratch it or anything.

Ill snap a picture of it inside the bag in a minute and post it here. For now, just open to offers. I will only deal through Paypal, and I always add Delivery Confirmation so that both my buyers and I can view its progress as it makes its way to the destination.

Thanks,
Isaac

EDIT: Alternatively, you can buy the one I already have in the lens barrel. Or you can buy the one still in the heatsink along with the lens barrel and I will just store the old lens....somehow. lol

BUMP! If you want the one with the lens barrel, just PM me and we can explore that possibility!

A bare G-1/G-2 lens goes for about $23
A G lens in a nut goes for about $30

Also, this "G-9" lens is NOT "superior" to the other G lenses available ;)

Peace,
dave

Correct me if I am wrong, but THIS thread seems to indicate that the G9 lens outperforms the G1/G2 lenses by about 5-10%. That is where I pulled that assumption from.

And...here we go with the optics argument...

I read the same article. I don't know which is better without formal testing. If it was cheap enough, I wouldn't care, I'd buy and find out for myself.

Perhaps we might get some actual empirical evidence on this topic...

Thanks Blord! Ask and ye shall recieve!

That's why Blord is such a valuable member. I just haven't had need for his services yet.

Also, bear in mind, that the thread you looked at and linked to is almost a full year old!
There have been several other tests run since then ;)

Peace,

this lens does work nicely with single mode diodes too. it doesn't seem to increase divergence and does allow more power.
