FS:532nm 200mW Green Beam Laser Pointer DC 3V(free shipping)

Dino-- I got the email for a free item if 20 friends with 20 friends on thier list give the thumbs up-'I like' for posting any dino item in FB share--the only thing is this-- I looked for an hour and it appears that DinoD has NO items that cost exactly $10. OIf Dino means any item $10 or less you should say that.

Scam?--you be the judge

DinoDirect: I would like to purchase the 200mW green laser. If it does not have an IR filter, please tell me how much of the 200mW is 532nm and how much is IR?
Thanks.

Hold on. That's 20 squared. 400 people liking one item. Yeah... i don't suppose it matters how they list it, that's not going to happen. Too much effort for just $10, when you could just wash someone's car for that.

I doubt they know what that means.

Carmen from Dino has informed me this laser is IR filtered, and promises at least 180mW of 532nm.

mine is on its way and will be metered with a LaserBee as soon as it arrives. will post full review, so i suggest you guys wait for this! should be under 2 weeks

"promises" as in "will give you another if it's not"? If so, i will be grabbing one before the review is out if i can get the same promise.

Hey guys,

For what it's worth, about 10 days ago I ordered this:
Firedragon- 300mW 532nm laser

I didn't expect much. Certainly didn't expect it to be up to spec. It arrived today (they shipped it EMS, which I don't believe I even paid extra for), which was impressive - I've never had something arrive this quickly from China.

I've just metered it with a number of different batteries. With the battery they supplied, this hits a peak of 375mW, and settles down to an average of around 360mW. As far as I can tell, no IR to speak of. I shined the beam through RED-pass, green blocking, cheapo laser goggles, and the result was ~35mW. However, while doing so, there was still some green getting through the goggles. So at least some, if not all, of that 35mW was actually green 532nm.

In other words, overspec, low if any IR, fast shipping, stable output.

They're selling it for $200 now. For some reason, 10 days ago, it was $126 (which is what I paid).

Considering I spent they same ~$126 on an IQS #200 that broke in 2 minutes, and was replaced by another pointer that mode hops like crazy, I'd say DinoDirect was a pretty darn good company to buy from - and really, I've never been a fan of theirs in the past. In fact, I've been vocally anti-Dino.

But to get a stable 360mW 532nm laser for $126 - I'm impressed. Of course it doesn't mean this one here ^ is a good deal too - but I just wanted to put my positive experience out there.

^^^ Only time and lots of us-- will tell us if it will be around to make that much mW in a few months from now?.

They also claim to give you a free I-Pad if you gey 1000 'I Likes' on your 10$ item-- but as I could not find any at that price-- the offer is bogus IMO, very cleaver of Dino- just dont price anything at 10$--

I doubt they know what that means.

I don't disagree - I'm no Dino evangelist here - just relaying my experience :)

I have a suggestion. Maybe if we all work together one of us can get the iPad and the object.

yeah she has promised a full refund or replacement

rhd - that gives me some confidence!

It shouldn't...

The laser died today.

You know why? The driver spring / battery contact came off - and it's 4 or so inches inside the host, beyond the range of what I could fix myself.

$126 down the drain to Dino.

Yes.... I can disassemble it - and will.

The hassle of trying to get Dino to repair it probably isn't worth the potential loss of $126 if I toast it.

Arghhh... I'm done with cheap chinese lasers.

Well, at least you will likely get a powerful module out of it, to fit in something else.

I'm going to retain the host, and literally only replace the spring, and reassemble

This "module" is not a green "module" as we're used to them. Its entirely enclosed, and it's ginormous. Really, this module is thicker than half my lasers in their final assembled state.

This thing is big. The driver is two pieces. A board, and a separate IC with its own heat-sink compartment.
