So is this just one of those 445nm diodes that has been powered low enough to only excite the first mode?

Many folks around are more interested in lower powered builts, so they can use it inside or just enjoy it without being blended.

I think it's a natural evolution of the hobbyist. When I first started all I wanted was MOAR power, but now I find myself playing with low power lasers much much more.

I doubt thats the incling, but lets just say your trying to help the sale out. Some of the lower power units do have a market.
