8x Drive Mini "GB" - DONE
Guys, this is in relation to the 8x MURDER fund for our 8x experiments, to figure out how much they are ACTUALLY capable of!
We already purchased TWO 8x diodes for the MURDER experiment, through the fundraiser! The two already on their way to me!
But this thread here is meant for ordering 8x drives, so we can get them cheaper, by ordering more at once (if possible even without sales-tax), and also sharing the shipping cost!
EDIT: At this moment, we can usually get LG 8x drives for $175, but there are several possibilities that could/should allow us to lower this
cost! Several of us are working on this...
EDIT 2: The current time-limited special offer price is $168.51 per LG 8x Drive (Shipping AND PayPal fees INCLUDED - $159.99 for drive itself)
I would plot them ALL on my Diode Analyzer equipment (aka "OmniDrive TM"), select the weakest two for the MURDER experiment and put them to death on my Cycler Circuit!
Anyone wanting for an 8x drive for themselves (like if you don't have the tools to plot/measure your diode, but do know how to assemble a laser safelly yet want it plotted) or an 8x build from me - or anyone else for that matter - can ask for an 8x here!
The more diodes we plot before the experiment, the more we will learn about them, and the weakest efficiencies will really be the lowest we can find! (used for establishing minimums in survivability)...
We will also try to arrange for the lowest diode price possible, share the shipping cost and then we'll even be able to "cherry-pick" (well almost) the diodes for our lazores.. :drool:
Everyone will also get a full printed hi-res PIV plot of their diode!
It's just an idea for now, but PLEASE post your interest here, let me know your thoughts or wishes, and we'll just take it from there..
