Awesome!! Its really bright. I took these photos in day light with the lights on and you can clearly see the beam. At night its super bright. My neighbors were all like "WTF is that?!" LOL. The host just starts to get warm after 5 minutes, but never gets hot. I'm very happy. I wish I could afford the 8X, but that's not going to happen any time too soon. It took me 5 months just to save up to buy this, but it was worth it. Thanks again Igor.:wave:

For some reason my host looks pink but its more of a deep violet. A+ work from Dark Horse (Barry).

I like that tool chest! I have something similar that I got from my wife's Grandfather that I use for my special lathe bits and stuff...

Tanx. I collect antiques, well used to when I could afford it. That a cir 1920's machinists chest. I use it for all my electronic do dads.

Just wanted to chime in and let everyone know I have one of these backordered from my distributor (I manage a local computer store chain) and they have a ship date of 10/10/09 for this. If I get it that soon, I'll be glad to run any tests on it, even though I'm still a forum noob :D

Store is Vertigo Systems, in PA, US. We get our products through a channel distro D&H if anyone else is familiar with them. According to a few other sources, the drives should be available starting mid october through newegg and other retail-ish distros too.

I have a really sloppy 8x build and an extra 8x sled here that I haven't harvested yet, on the sloppy build I damaged the diode a bit (the glass lens cracked, so I removed it) but it still produces a very nice beam with Larry's lens that burns white paper nicely. I'm not sure if missing the glass on the diode is either going to shorten it's life or reduce it's power much. I will post some pictures when I put it into a proper host.

I will backorder the drives for other people as soon as I can confirm that the ship date is correct. The price on them is $202.49 but sometimes changes when their stock comes in.

$202.49?!?!? Damn! That's even cheaper than $250 although I understand that the price can go up. Well mid october is a lot better than Q1 2010. Thanks for posting lv128! I hope newegg will have them in mid october. Screw an 8x White Fusion, why not build a 12x high powered White Fusion kit! Can't wait to see the tests Dave!
