I took apart 11 sd-h802a drives from xbox 360 hd-dvd player only 4 drives have the phr-803t sled. :(
I will carefully disassemble mine. If it's not an 803t it's going in the pc. ;D
Even if its not the high powered one its still a lot cheaper than a ps3 sled. :)

Both of my drives had the 803t sled, so I ordered a couple more. With the code, came out to about $22 a piece. The diodes are working quite well, once I found that the pins aren't the same layout as the reds I had been playing with :-[

Here is one at about 75ma, wish I had a meter to measure it. Now if the aixiz modules would hurry up & get here, I could focus that power a bit :D

According to fedex mine is already on my door step. :D Evidently I live in the same city as where they ship. Hopefully tonight I will have enough time to rip it open and see what sled I have. Now I have to live with the fact that I paid $7 for shipping for probably 5 miles of actual travel.

Got a chance to rip mine open tonight. It is a PHR-803t sled. I won't have time to extract the diode till probably next week. So I can't comment on the actual diode yet.

I just ordered two of these, quite the cheap source for 405nm diodes and the geeks site ships from California instead of Hong Kong. In a little while we will probably find HD-DVD drives for a few pennies since they are about worthless to non-laserists :)

I got a high powered for 25 shipped off of a broken 360 hddvd drive on ebay. I might buy this for actual use though on my computer!

It seems that if you wanted to put one of these in your computer you would have to spend money on now defunct HD-DVD movies.

Or, you could be one of the unlucky ones (like me) who already had a HD-DVD collection before the market was bought out by Sony [smiley=angry.gif]
