Hi from Ohio

Hi all, I'm looking forward to doing a lot of reading and learning. I'm a DIYer and I have recently removed a red and ir diode from a DVD drive. I have decided to build my own as I enjoy the challenge. I'm building the driver now. The common lm317. I hope to have it ready to test my diodes soon. I'm sure I'll have some questions. Also I have worked for 20 years as an electrician in an industrial setting and Plc programmer. I have a few lasers but nothing super powerful. A 5 mw green and a 50 mw green. I have just ordered a 5mw blue and another green because they were cheap. I plan on having the one I'm working on now and maybe buying a more powerful one. Anyway, nice place you have here.

Not since 1968.

Watched them build it and did a term paper (pic heavy) for an class at KSU.

Last time I went to OHIO(1995) was for a gathering to commemorate the 25th year since the four murders in 1970. I lost a friend that day-- Jeff Miller(RIP)

My dad was a mason contractor so we had interest in anything nearby that was being built. So we went by many times from when they poured the foundations until is was finished.
