You guys rock!!!! Great advice...thank you. I just received my inexpensive but awesome looking ( silver pointer) and great working green pointer for only 24.99! They had free shipping, it seems to work great ( solid and superbright neam) and it was one fourth the price of wicked's which was flimsy and cheaper looking, and unlike O and Rayfoss, they took my credit card with no problem!
I'm actually picking up two more for my friends. Guys, I'm really glad I did my research here.... Thanks for being so helpful with everything. I especially liked the sticky " buying your first laser" which had the " good, cheap and bad" listings. Super helpful along with everyones advice.

Please not that you should reverse the order of these things...
FIRST safe! You only have two eyes, which cannot be replaced nor repaired!

Please do invest in good laser safety goggles, if you feel lucky you can pick up red goggles fro Focalprice, $8, however mine came crushed after 3 months of waiting. I am still waiting for replacement.

You can pick up good laser goggles at O-like and rayfoss, or search here on this forum if somebody sells some, I think Glenn here has good deals on goggles!

I´ve ordered two piece of earphones, both were totally damaged. I contacted them a week ago due their service-mail on the page and also sent them pics of the broken earphones. Is there another option to contact them directly via mail?

what are the safety rules i must follow?
i am using a cheap ebay laser plugged in a mobile charger (10V) delivering a very bright, yet not warm-sensible to the skin, green bright spot. i can reach more than 2km with this beam at night, and i can even see it on the asphalt when i pont it from my home (5th floor). so - it is kinda strong. is there anyway i can evaluate how many mW is this? should i follow yet another any other safety rule for this situation?

You can read a lot of usefull things for your case on LPF!
Don´t point it to humans/animals/cars/airplanes and use safety glasses especially if you want to use it inside. You are able to test it´s mW with a laserpowermeter. If you are interested, you should contact the user lasersbee or Kenom, they are selling them.

Edit: the cheapest goggle Defend green laser specialty glasses
If you´re on budget, buy them. If you want to buy a stronger greenie in the future, buy the goggles from Dragonlasers for example

From what i know anything over 5mw really requires laser safety glasses or else you can cause permanent damage to your eyes in less then 1/100th of a second. If ya look around here Im sure you can find a good deal on a decent pair that will keep your eyes safe.

For outside using, you DON'T need goggles, you're not gonna see anything with them! Goggles are meant to protect your eyes from reflections and such things when operating the laser insides, like when you burn with it

Yah but how many people wont be tempted to use there laser inside, and only use it outside? Im sure some people would but most people i can see getting a little bored and playing with it inside as well as out. So having goggles around imo is a good idea!

hum... i just think that if there are no kids around the house, i think no one is that stupid to get hurted that badly by shinning a laser at a reflective structure.... i dunno - if u guys are playing around with REALLY strong lab lasers, then i can tell u u can get damaged pretty much without the risc of random reflection...
so: for 5mW lasers up to non burning ones - i am getting the idea that safety goggles are only necessary if u are attempting something tricky/risky.
seems some guys are getting paranoid indeed! hehehe

Well, it's not that hard to accidentally hit a metal or something like that, but again, keep the beams outside. If you want to burn etc, then do it inside but WITH goggles!
