This may sound like the most stupid question but better safe than sorry.

I have an x-drive v6 driver installed into an MS-SSW pill and am about to solder the drivers wires to the 9mm diode
so I can finally turn this beast on :eg:

My question is that, do I need to short the driver prior to soldering the driver wires to the diode wires?
If so, how do I short the driver?

Anyones help is greatly appreciated

:thanks:

Simply touch the 2 output wires together. Without power being applied of course.

Is that all  Should have guessed something as simple as that

Thank you so much jander

Almost finished my first build :D

Another stupid question  obviously the red wire on the 9mm diode module is the positive lead, correct?

Yes, always discharge the output of any driver or power supply before connecting a LD to prevent spikes

And yes, standard color code is red=positive and black=negative

Will, Congrats on your 1st build!
Nothing better than seeing that beam for the first time on a new build, especially when it's your 1st!
That beam looks a lot like 473nm from my small screen also.
Looking forward to the full build.
