Looking for a high rep custom-builder to make/sell me a high quality 12x > 700mw for shipment to UK.

Useage will be fairly light, so I'm prepared to risk a current at the higher end with good heat-sinking.

Open-minded on the host, though a Kryton would be ideal.

Must be focusable, with no adjustment wobble, to a nice point.

Will pay a fair price.

Perhaps you could try sending a PM directly to a known builder.

May I recommend Morgan? He's in the UK, and you may save on postal costs.

It's good to see that the 445nm mania may be dissipating enough to get back to "other" business as well :)

405nm is still my favorite color to date

Peace,

Happy to offer my services davidgdg. I've built a few of these 445s, (I know you're after a 405, just illustrating I'm used to dealing with the heatsinking). My last one was a 1,300mW+ peak in a 18650 host with a heatsink I made. 30 second run time graph is here -

http://laserpointerforums.com/f42/d...r-time-tests-445nm-diode-flexdrive-54252.html

Also in the thread is a set of test results in an attachment at the bottom of the page. I can email them in the excel format if they're a touch hard to read.

New tests had it running 6 mins. Power dropped to just below 1W and the body was probably too hot to be comfortable so the dissipation should be more than good enough for a 405. (Graphs for those runs are on the way from an independent source).

Drop me a line if I can help.

Which 12x diode were you looking to use?

BTW @ Dave - Are you any further on with the 12x Lite On testing? I'm desperate for some data! Please, if you find some time, (I know it's precious), can you let us know your learnings?

For 700mW, you could use the 12x sled offered from Rayfoss for $65.

I think you're reading and comprehension are just fine Proto :D . That is exactly what I was alluding to. That is to the UK remember too.

A first low number order but I will be placing that order in the next couple of days. If all is good then more to come later. :shhh: Don't tell anybody!

I have gotten to play with my new 405 for a couple days now and have to say this is a great wavelength. The color is brilliant. So easily overlooked by some of us new members due to price, beam visibility, and total possible output. Also the most effective way to get on of these gems is to dissect a sled but I have found that to be a lot easier than I thought it would be.

As for power I would put this 650mW's up against my 445 1.6W for burning at distance any day. Where I work this week we are haveing a big to do. Lots of balloons getting stuck on the ceiling about 20 foot ceiling. I was popping balloons of every color even blue and purple to get them down after everyone left. Cant do that with 445's multimode diode.

Also after today's fun I have now around 47 minutes on this Lite On diode so far..
