Aixiz module  http://www.laserpointerforums.com/forums/YaBB.pl?num=1228038791

Long open can diode http://www.laserpointerforums.com/forums/YaBB.pl?num=1222665200

driver 422 mA http://rkcstr.nfshost.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=65&products_id=180

9v snap connector http://www.goldmine-elec-products.com/prodinfo.asp?number=G2210A

Im gonna put them all together but will the diode fit and I am doing anything wrong (I usally am  :-[)

EDIT:

which is better

Long open can

or

LPC-815 diode

Those "square" 9V batteries suck for running lasers. Their voltage sags much too quickly.

then what would work better?

And would I be able to use rechargable and how I would I hold it all together like a battery holder?

Two CR123 sized batteries (primary or rechargeable) or any other of the 3V-3.6V type batteries.

Yes you will have to get or build a battery holder

You can actually get Li-ion " Square " type batteries that are 9V and have a a capacity of around 2000mAh

If you are referring to the transistor radio type 9 volt, it wouldn't be a good idea because they have a max discharge rating of 120ma's. Anything above that and the battery will probably shut down.

But then again I am not sure this is what you are referring to.

Gazoo, you have done it again :) I am going to post this on another thread as I had not considered that as a limiting factor on some measurement being taken.

Hello Rog...please note this only applies to the 9 volt lithium transistor radio battery. I am not sure how this would apply to a regular alkaline or nimh battery...but as we have learned running anything with over 100ma's with those batteries really doesn't work well.

A much better solution would be a small RC hobby 11.1 volt lipo battery for those of us that know how to handle them, due to their high discharge capability. Of course it depends on the driver as to what lipo voltage one would need.

Having said that, most anything is better than those 9 volt batteries...no matter what chemistry they are and unless running at around 100ma's or less.
