WickedLasers: E2 Evolution or E3 Elite?

hey guys, im new here and im having trouble deciding on which laser i should buy; the evolution(130mW or elite(150mW green) from WL. yes, i have read the guide to buying the green laser but im still having trouble. i would like a laser that has high power density at close range(for burning), while maintaining a very small beam at a far distance. they came out with a new lens cap that im gonna add with the laser. could you guys help me? and don't ask me to buy somewhere else please..:thanks:

1st off if you are going to buy a high powered laser i would highly suggest investing some money in some safety goggles. You cant put a price on your eyes. You can just add them to your order or you can buy a nice pair from here - Laser Glasses - UV to Green Lasers Protection 190-548nm :: Laser Safety :: Dragon Lasers

You can also shoot glen a pm. He sells cheap glasses as well though i dont believe they are certified. But if you cannot afford good glasses he is your guy.

Now if your just in it for burning power get the 150 mw e1 fusion.

The e2 130mw evolution is a very nice model as well and has a lens cover to help keep dust out. It is a but larger so it will provide better heatsinking for longer burning.

The choice is yours ultimately but i would suggest the evolution.

the elite also has a dust cover cap.i know about safety and stuff. im gonna buy some safety glasses with them. would the evo be able to go a very far distance? because it has a very low beam diameter and wouldnt that mean a greater divergence?

Both the Evo and Elite are advertised with the same beam specs -- 1.5mm beam diameter @ <1.2mRad.
It is the same laser packaged in a different casing.
So the beams should be the same. For $20 more, you may as well go with the Elite for more power, but the Evo pro runs on a superior power source (AA vs. AAA) and has superior heat-sinking qualities.


I own(ed) an Evo and it is a solid laser.
Wickedlasers would not be my first recommendation as a company, however since you asked us not to provide other options, I won't. :thinking:

sorry 'bout that. i know safety is a big thing with lasers and yes i do and always will take safety seriously.the evo would be a better buy because i heard that it averages a 140mW output and a maximum of 160mW. i can buy the lens cap with it for close-up burning. and the laser would be able to manage a pretty far distance right? also, if you were to recommend me for another company, could you name some? thanks

ah, the elite use aaa ?mmmhhh.. bad idea to put the BEST modules on the aaa host for elite.. ... elite should use aa batteries.... they are 2700mah instead 1000mah of aaa.

I don't believe Wicked offer cap sets for the evo or elite for BURNING.
I think the cap sets they sell with the laser are for laser effects

The only focusing type lens they sell are these
Wicked Cap Set
which are meant for the pulsar and executive

they recently added a new option for the evo. and elite and pretty much all their lasers where you can choose if you want a cap set. its like the spyder iii cap set but for the smaller lasers(elite,evo,executive,etc). im think you unscrew the lasers default cap and screw on the cap set's adapter then you screw on whatever cap you want.

Just ordered my own Evolution Pro because of the fact that it runs on a better power source and looks like a better built laser (design even prevents it from rolling off surfaces and tables and what not). The Evolution series is made for burning (lens specs) and the heatsinking with the power sources mentioned above is far greater for burning while having a solid laser at distances. In my opinion, I felt the Evolution was a more versatile laser, or maybe it was just my taste.

Totally agree. I was looking into an elite pretty hard, then I saw it ran on AAA batteries. That's when I said, nope. The elite is a bit bigger in diameter than the executive series I believe, but didn't make it work with AA's...
