fluorescence. This is when a material absorbs the laser's energy, and then re-emits some of it at a different wavelength (hence making it appear a different color)

LOL, I didn't realize at first he meant fluorescence. That the targeted material was re-emitting light in other wavelengths, common when green or higher wavelength lasers illuminate certain red, orange, or pink dyes common in many household objects.
Considering that changing the color of the LASER, would mean it was tunable, I was going to say "When the laser dot changes color, that's called 'F-ing amazing'..." ;D
