WHat type/power laser?

Im in the PCB manufacturing business and was wonder what laser would be needed to cut PCB material ranging from .001 mil flex material all the way up to .093 fr4 material? Right know we are routing our boards the old fashion way with routing bits. Laser cutting machines run around $1 million i believe. Im not trying to jimmy rig a machine to do this but was more curious if anything.

A decent CO[sub]2[/sub] system would easily have enough power to do what you want, and these types of laser cutting/marking systems can be had for ~$20,000US or thereabouts. I imagine that the control systems involved with a system designed specifically for electronics and PCB manufacture is what makes the price so much higher.

At that price i may have to look into it more. Maybe my excellon tech and use this with with the aid of the control systems.
