Alright heres another newby who wants to have fun with lasers. :)

Ive read for about a week trying to find the right one, for the right price, and has good durability.

Ive come down to two sites: Wicked Lasers and Destructive Gears for quality and price purposes.

From WL: a 35 mW Advanced for 159.99$
From DG: a 55 mW Extreme for 154.00$ (With Discount-Reg. 205.00$)
a 75 mW Sirius for 188.00$ (With Discount-Reg. 250.00$)

Now keep in mind Wicked Lasers have a 18$ Shipping charge.
And Destructive Gears have no shipping charge and seem to maintain the great customer care and service as Wicked says.

Im just seeing if anyone out there has ordered from DG and might have any experience with them. Ive heard alot from WL, but I cant let those excellent prices go!

Thanks.

well i go and check there best one, from dealxtreme...and well they spelt lasers wrong....

how can u trust a site that sells lasers and they spell it wrong...lol

anyways they said, "Most of these and other made in China green lasers do not have IR filters and thus can be hazardous to eyes without proper protective eye wear..."

good price, bad buy...?

Ok, I cannot keep quiet and must put in my $1.50
The dealextreme lasers below 50 mw all do have IR filters. I currently have one of thier 30mw variety and it's a very good laser and does indeed have Ir filtering. I would have to state that it is not running at 30mw based on my led power meter (which I'm told is extremely innacurate) It's bright, can be seen for miles and doesn't burn me or anything so is a very good starter laser to find out the basics in lasers and what not to shine on and get back reflected radiation. You can see the beam in lower lighting but not daylight. In the dark it's got a very good beam. smoke adds to the flavor and there's nothing cooler than getting out of the hot shower and play with the green beam in the dark. Steam makes for very fun laser shows. "The green beam in the dark steam"

Hemlock Mike tested his 200mw DX laser - and got VERY low residual IR - so the filter in THAT one is pretty good for all accounts - the only thing wrong with IR in the beam is if you pay for a 150mw laser and you get 30mw green, and 120mw IR. It'll still work - just not as good - and could have a short life from the IR baking the crystals. Seriously - any residual IR is NOT going to pose a danger to anyone from "reflection" hazards at over a foot away - IR comes out of the aperature like a flood, and disapates FAST.
