So, Today i was cleaning fo my workbench, when i noticed a diode still in its heatsink.
I don't remember where i extracted this diode from, nor when i did it.
I took the best pics i can take with my 6mp camera.
Also the diode is odd shaped, and there is a "R" Engraved on the back of the diode as seen in the 4th picture.

I found a diode in my room to but it says 100W on the back! but it is most likely a 5mW IR diode like your one.

Probably a 5mW red DVD diode, or 5mW IR CD diode.
will a 150ma rckstr driver be too much for this diode if the diode is only 5mw ?

If it's a 5mW then it will only take 10-20mA. But I don't see why it can't be higher power.
