No you sexual deviants! This is NOT a variant of the dildazer.
I thought I'd share with you guys the jewellery box laser!
Is it me or does it resemble the tardis?
I'm surprised how long its taken me to discover how useful these are as project boxes, seeing as my mum works at a jewelery store. These boxes (which I have an unlimited supply of ) fit a rcr123 battery and an aixiz perfectly after removing the soft padding, with a bit of leftover space for a small driver.
As you can see, the box is very small and fairly pocket friendly. However, its not pocketfluff proof and that could dirty the lens up a bit. On that topic, does anyone know if it is ok to use isopropyl on the aixiz glass lenses or will that ruin the coating. The bottom half of the box looks a bit scruffy because when I was drilling, it ripped off the paper outer layer, so I just tore it off along the rest of the box.
Inside, I have a 1236vl diode powered by an amc7135 driver with a pot on it to drop the current down to 200ma.
Pics of the innards
My connections to the battery consist only of a small dx disc magnet and a piece of paper clip soldered to the wire. (Very hobo) Fortunately, the battery only has about 1-2mm of wiggle room lengthwise, so the connection seems ok.
And of course, the beamshot.
Thanks for looking!
