Jan 6, 2008 #2 L likewhat Guest W is for watt which is a joule/second. m is for milli or 1/1000. So your laser is 95 mW which means it is 0.095 watts or in 1 second it puts out .095 joules of energy. Sometimes people capitalize the m which is wrong because a capital M is for Mega or million, laser pointers dont put out millions of watts.
