What do you call the violet 405nm laser in general

Just wondering what the majority refer to the 405nm violet blu-ray laser! ;D

More then one option for the wishiwashies!

i just call it purple as everyone i know isn't educated in all this laser mumbo jumbo and i don't feel like explaining to them that blu ray isn't actually blue  : but on here i'll call it blu ray or 405nm

I call it blu-ray. a good majority of people I talk to are at least familiar with blu-ray on a ps3 or such, from there they can assume it uses a laser. they get the idea. The name almost speaks for itself, except it isnt quite blue..

Blu-ray, because it sounds good, and many people know about the blu-ray format as mikeeey said above. Blu is a bit misleading, but how does "violet-ray" sound? :;D

This is generally contingent on the listener and context. Generally I refer to said laser as either violet or blu-ray.

some times i just say blu.as in i have red green and blu.(not really).

when i hear blu-ray i think of the almighty laser. it sounds too great! sounds like the Chuck Norris of lasers. versus just plain green, or red.
