wavelength question please

I currently have a 2w blue laser and I'm curious what power I'd need out of an average green wavelength laser to achieve the same visibility as my blue one. Also I'm assuming 405nm is less visible than 445nm? I want a laser for brightness and pointing now since I have my burning laser already. So two questions I'd love someone to enlighten me on if they could. Thanks!

Yes you are correct. 405nm is far less visible then 445nm since that wavelength is located at the end of the visible spectrum.

As far as having a green laser beam equal 2W of 445nm about 150-200mW will be sufficient.

That laser isn't bad at all and will meet and even surpass your needs(especially that 520nm:drool: ) and is a lot more affordable than the higher powered 532nm quality lasers. You can get what greenlander is talking about here: Laserglow Technologies
That is if you're willing to shed $5400 on an almost 1W green

Well that's because Laserglow is a rip-off. The lasers they rebag are good quality (e.g. CNI lasers), but they charge way more than the laser is worth.

I would have to agree, the prices are insane for their low powered green lasers, what makes them so worth the price? even a crap laser on ebay if u treat well can last many years.

What you are forgetting is the shipping back if your laser fails and/or the quality each holds their laser up to

I find that paying extra for LG is fine by me, since I know their lasers are as advertised and if I have any issues, shipping is only to Canada

I agree as well. A laser doesn't have to cost hundreds of dollars to be defined as a quality laser
I mean look at WL's lasers, they cost $$$ and they're quality is at best questionable
