I really hate to create a thread just to link to someone else's findings so I will do this the best way I see fit and will state multiple times ***THIS IS NOT MY FINDINGS***

Fist time I saw it here

Locally I keep saying to people do not buy Ultrafire 4200mAh is fake like any other Ultrafire no matter what capacity is claimed, but unfortunately no one really gets anything like internal resistance, capacity at different loads, etc so Ultrafire is a very popular brand even with warnings.

However I have not ever imaged this thing as a possible cause for the UltraBad quality of this brand.

Original source: Have you seen this type of counterfeit 18650 battery before? | BudgetLightForum.com

I have always been a supporter of only buying quality batteries AND chargers. This is just disgusting and outright fraud. There is no way that is a 4200mAh cell or a true 18650. If you own any of these cells then I am sorry you found this but let this be a further warning, Ultrafire = PIECES OF CRAP! Don't buy them, don't recommend them, don't let someone else recommend them. Recommend quality batteries for laser and flashlights. You get what you put in. If they are willing to put crap in a shell and sell it as a 18650 then imagine how stable those cells are.

Glad I only own Panasonic and Sanyo cells. Why put crap into our expensive toys, spend the money and get a quality cell; Sanyo, Panasonic, Samsung, Nitecore, AW, etc.... I'm not telling you what to buy but I am telling you all those whatever"fire" brands are junk and this is just more proof.

Let the debate begin......one sided debate but let it begin ;)

EDIT:
More Ultrafire horror!

Ultrafire exploded and injured user

Ultrafire warnings
I didnt read the above thread due to length but if you go through and look at the photos it will make you laugh. Its sad! They labeled one as 3000mAh but the cell itself was marked 1000mAh

Thanks for posting a thread on this issue Livin!

I have owned UltraFire's for about 6 months and have not had an incident yet :p Even though this dosen't mean mine won't explode, I still avoid using them!

Alex, thanks for adding the support to this finding. I guess there is a few threads on CPF about this as well so I'm going to see if I can dig those up and get some more photos.

EDIT: I really like the use of "crack" as a filler

You guys should try eBay seller r-lsales. I've been getting some nice batteries from him. Has the 3400 panny, Sanyo, Samsung, Sony, every size shape we need. Fast shipping. I think he's in Utah . I just got 26650 Sony, some 18650 panny, 14500 IMR all the good stuff! I think I'm down to two 18350 ultra fires I have yet to discard.

Yeah I'm disappointed they didn't use crystal. That would have had a better resale value, oh well

I've seen this a long time ago and as soon as I did I switched to quality cells. I will never touch crap batteries like this anymore.

This is terrible, that poor guy had a very bad injury. Im using aw batteries in almost every laser now, This makes me realize I still have to discard a couple of laptop pulls sitting somewhere in the drawers.

I'm glad I learned about ultrafires being crap before I bought any. I have only had good results with the AW batteries I bought.

Yes nothing new to me either....I have always said these xxxxxxfire brands are crap. Still every day I read people posting what they are buying or asking for batteries and crapfires are still listed all the time. Its ridiculous and figured I'd post something to show that they are crap in hopes that members who didn't know would see and the word would finally spread
