I just found these while I was looking around at the Chinese 445nm's.
It come in 5 lots, at cost of ~$105 for the lot.
If someone decided to do a GB, Thats ~$35 each after Shipping, Not bad at all especially If they use 1W diodes.

5mW
Wholesale 5mw 445nm Blue laser pointer , hot sale

10mW
Wholesale A 10mw 445nm blue laser pointer, a manual, a box, three batteries, hot sales

20mW
Wholesale A 20mw 445nm blue laser pointer, a manual, a box, three batteries, hot sales

These are surely 445nm not 405nm, As we can see them on boblaser which They quoted me $80 for 100mW unit a month ago.

mmm? interesting-- they are proud of thier shipping tho--I have a freind that lives in that are-- maybe he can pick one up and send--T Y for the links

I wonder how they are able to get the diodes so cheap. They are selling those cheaper than we can get just the diodes.

They're probably getting bottom-of-the-line diodes. These diodes quite likely will be incapable of any significant power. Otherwise I'm not sure how they would get them for so cheap.

AAlasers

I'm just glad they're not high powered lasers. At least they're keeping them from falling in the wrong hands.

EDIT: Is it possible we'd be able to turn the power up to like 50-100mw? or that it already might be a bit over spec instead of 5-20?

I'd think they'd use a different diode if they were to sell them at that cheap. Also, if we do a GB I'm in for the 20mw seeing as it's practically the same price as the others.

Well, there are a couple of ways I see this:

1) They *are* using a blue, 445nm diode, and they are just really crappy.
2) They *are* using a blue, 445nm diode, and they managed to get them so cheaply by buying in bulk directly from the manufacturer.
3) They *aren't* using a blue, 445nm, but instead, ANOTHER diode that is blue, which is even more amazing.
4) They are outright lying, and it's probably a PHR.

Obviously, 3) is the least likely, followed by 2), then 1), then 4). Either way though, this could be a great gamble.

There was 50mW multi "node" 445nm diodes on ebay a while ago, IIRC it was selling for $200+, maybe they found a source selling them for dirt cheap.

I'm in the GB if it will happen.

A great gamble? It'd be $30 per person and we might be talking about a new diode here. WHY IS THE SHIPPING SO DAMN HIGH DAMNIT.

LR1 batteries? :undecided: Not something I have lying around.

Google tells me that's 4.5V in 11mmx90mm. It might work with a 10440+dummy cell... but if they need 4.5V it's probably linear, so no.

10440+AAA for the adventurous :eg:

I still suspect that this is a 405nm laser. The pictures look suspicious to me.
I do have an aliexpress account, but am not going to throw away $100 just to see if they are 405 mislabeled as 445.

I took the plunge! I will post when they arrive (3 weeks +?). I'd be glad to forward one on to someone who has a meter and actually knows something about lasers. I'm not thrilled about the three N cells/ LR1. I did find some rechargeable N cells at ~$9 per but I have a feeling the lower voltage could be a problem. I'm hoping they'll do 5-10mW on 2 AAAs but I know it's unlikely.
