Unbranded 200mw purple laser

Hello everyone. I recently got a new 405 purple laser laser and have a few questions and I can see the beam!

-The online specifications of my laser says that it's 405+10nm. How does that work by having 405nm and then another 10nm? It also says that on the warning sticker.

-How can I make so that it's easier for my video camera to pick the beam up in videos and pictures without fog machines or just fog itself.

405+/-10 means it could be anywhere between 395 and 415. It's a plus or minus 10nm margin.

Long exposures, or better a better camera really, other than addition particulate (dust, smoke, fog, etc.) there's not much you can do on the camera's side but upgrade. However, my iPod picks up the beam better depending on the angle, so try that first.

You don´t need a expensive cam for 405nm shots.

Took the pics below withmy girls $150 cam.

Just get a tripod for the cam & laser and do some long exposure shots.

By adding steam/fog/smoke.. you can increase visibility a lot.

Cam doesn't mean camera? What point are you trying to make? I know they could be more, but I don't take a lot of pictures, so to pay $150 to take better beamshots (to me) doesn't seem worth it.

Don´t know the prices of the cams in the US, but for $150 you definitely get nothing more than a novice-model.

It´s not about how much money YOU have, $150 is not expensive for a cam, that´s a fact.

The point is, that you don´t need an expensive cam ($$$$) to take good beamshots.

You could definitely pick up a camera for less than $150, even less than $100 over here.

I could afford it, just don't see a point in it. I take beamshots with my iPod :/

I'm sure you've seen the macros I can take with my ipod It's no masterpiece, but it gets the job done for me.

Actually my camera was a $530 canon FS100 and it still can't pick the beam up lol. Thanks to both of you =)
