I wish I hadn't seen this, as that is a steal as far as my knowledge knows.

I could buy it, but shipping is expensive, it'd most likely take forever, and I should really be responsible and spend the money instead on a second set of eagle pair.

I'll pass... reluctantly.

Even if it were not me that started it (tip o de hat to allthatwhichis a PleX as he startred the one there and merely 'stole' his idea)= before it was here following stuff was a huge PITA- and no body even really had the option to post& call dibbs easily and to avoid any butt-hurting by friends on the internet's best forum are avoided. Greedbay mde all that happen when the began masking bidders UNs.

To me personally this threads means more to me as some kind of achivement moreso than my post count(#10)- my rep score or even my long friends list- in real life i roll that way- never hurts to say something nice even to a stranger- and many more reply in kind them seen to be put-off by my nature.

back on topic- as aFYI- sam;s got the best advice for ebay buys of gassers
and its quite a amusing read- he also somewhere in his cluttered but invaluable 'site' more accurate laser data and laser info than AFAIK ANT other single source- google Sam's laser some time- dele the Sam'S Club hit and the rest of them are to Dr sam by an easy 99% and were talking about a ton of pages of hits.

at his site you can find his email addy at UPenn- link Sam to the listing and simply say thank for looking- he WILL reply with the best advice one could ask for.

He is ALWAYS interested in exotic lasers- vintage ones ran with a candle etc(jk)

He is a hard one to Stump- mostly he sez he has one or more maybe FS or had some -seen lots etc- he kept me from buying an expensive alden plug that happened to be attached to a very dead HeNe red ( looong time ago)
AND when he replied !! a link to a better choice- and it had the correct PS and he advised how high to go- it was a big win- btw the one he advised against??? got a BAD FB for the seller from the iDIOT that bought it(as-is). That idiot could have very well been me. sams definition of AS _IS was amusing-- I will let you find it---

I am sending Sam a link to this thread- i would like to coax him to coming to LPF more often and I will offer this thread as his LPF home- when he posts i hope many of his fans will have some kind words for Dr Goldwasser.

I've actually got Sam's site bookmarked. It was recommended to me a while ago. Planning on seeing if he has any of his 60$-ish HeNe kits whenever I get some money.

I looked- just a guess- even at that price its a good deal- dont be bummed if the 1500 means 1.5mW of 632- its an oldie but NIB means a lot- waiting now for a search to load of completed listings at GREED bay for THIS gas hene- that is what i mean by doing your homework- BUT Sam may like to see one so nice and no doubt he has one for sale.

The Novette's generally include the 1508, and 1507. 0.5, and 0.8mW respectively.

It may be worth getting a picture of the internals. This is because there's no need to make a new stamp, or case, for the 1508, or the 1507, there's also the added P for polarization that may be on some, and not others.

Very likely that inside there will be marking for the specific tube, these are what you need to locate to find the exact rated output.

Either way, excellent intro to HeNes to show you what it is you're working with, without the need of finding the right PSU for the job :)

I put in a low bid on this laser but someone else got it for a good
price. I already have an old Metrologic which is similar at 1 mW.
I hope whom ever got it enjoys it. Fun stuff !!
