Been on the news today... UPS cargo plane found to contain a suspicious package.
It doesnt look like much more than a PCB from a cell phone and some wire, but
is suspected to be a 'dry run'. They are also stating that no explosives were
present in the 'toner cartridge' that housed the suspected bomb.

I have no size refference but that's almost clearly a cell phone PCB as you mentioned, hell there's even a small camera up there, to the right.
And connector for something at middle left.

Or is it just me ?

Well the idea may have been to get this past xray, and test for vulnerability.
A common means of detonating used by terrorists has been cell phones and
'calling' it in...

Doesnt make sense why they would 'dry run' such a package though.
Something tells me this was not a precursor to anything, perhaps just a hoax
by an angry individual..

Terrorists may be many things, but they have the tendency to go big or go home.

LOL, agreed, that is one sloppy DIY :san:

I know one thing, I wont be using UPS anytime soon.. Anything with wires
may get blasted by the bomb squad if it even looks remotely
suspicious to them.

People order copper wire from me all the time and sometimes when I take it to the post office in town this is what happens,
I go in the door and a alarm sounds and then when I get to the counter and place the package on the counter the alarm
goes off again and keeps sounding as long as the package lays on the counter.
every time they ask me what I have in the package, I tell them coil's of copper wire and they then process it no problem ;)
sometines the alarm will go off when all I have is a laser with a copper heatsink in the package, no COILS of wire.
I think it's just a copper counter to keep people from stealing the copper clappers from count chockulas cupperd

An alarm??? :wtf:

Never seen that one happen... I usually use fedex if not canada post, and
even when shipping lasers with copper heatsinks, no alarms have gone off.

I did have a pair of jeans that the stitched in alarm tag was not deactivated..

Almost every large store I went into, the damn alarm would go off. Almost got
tackled by security at wallmart... And I almost tackled security at the grocery store..
Needless to say, I stopped wearing those pants :tinfoil:

...and yet people give me funny looks when I say that not wearing pants solves problems. :yabbem:

Anyway, even if terrorists prefer to use UPS then DHL, i will stick to UPS because DHL in the Netherlands sucks ! I had verry strange experiences with DHL in the past, i complained many times and they just don't care,... And paypal in the netherlands just closed my dispute without the seller giving me a answer within the paypal communication system ! Here is a part of the Paypal transcript that they e-mailed to me :

>##-##-#### ##:## PDT - PayPal: De koper heeft dit geschil opgewaardeerd >tot een claim. >##-##-#### ##:## PDT - Koper: Dis smells verry fishy to me, is there a >possibility that the package has been intercepted by another >organisation in the netherlands,....This is not the first time this >happening with packages send to me by DHL ! >##-##-#### ##:## PDT - Koper: This watch does not even switch on anymore>after i recharged the bat. completely ! >##-##-#### ##:## PDT - Koper: This is verry strange ! Somax is saying in>this e-mail that my postcode is wrong ? The postcode i gave to Somax >with my original order is right like mentioned in the PayPal transaction>! I also don't understand that Somax say they will send the package by >DHL as i told them to send it by EMS ! I had to much problems with DHL >in the netherlands when i was living in the montgomerylaan ! I even >complained more then # times ! Today somebody came to the door with a >DHL packet i had to sign for. This guy told me that he was commisioned >by DHL but was not working for DHL !This smells verry fishy to me ! I >opened the box and there where # watches but one watch differs allot >from what i saw on your website, it is not as pretty and there are nobs >on the site. Also the resolution of the watch i recieved is ###x### >instead of SM-SH#### HD ####*### ! Also the box of this watch was verry >dirty and big scratch on the front ! What i also want to mention is that after recharging the bat. the watch stoped working ! And by the way sorry for being of topic again but what company is used by drug cartels,... :tired:

Another thing that also comes to my mind right now is that DHL cargo plane that collided with this russian plane,.... I remember because in that time i was in Salou, Spain. I felt very sad that day and i sensed a incredible abnormality !

Im not bomb expert at all but it doesnt look like a bomb..(from what i use to see in movies).

An activated cell phone and battery can be used to detonate
quite easily.

Perhaps the persons involved wanted to see if they could get the package
past xray..

Im sure the software in the xray machines 'flag' certain shapes. It would only
make sense that it looks for a cell phone's internals by shape and known
manufacturer, considering they have been used to detonate car bombs etc.

The only difference between the toner cartridge pictured and a live
bomb would be a missing blasting cap, battery, and secondary charge.
If im not mistaken, a toner cartridge could hold plenty of PETN which
is a common charge used by these idiots.

What I dont understand is, somebody passed a tip along to the
authorities with something to the effect that there was in fact a
live bomb involved.

This makes me think that it may be just a prank in poor taste.

Either this or if the 'package' made it through, the next step would be to
include the addition of a blasting cap and secondary charge on multiple flights,
or to multiple destinations.. Synagogues were also mentioned as a destination..

I guess we will find out as they investigate.

Could be a news agency trying to uncover flaws in the system too.

Ive been following on CNN and so far it has been said that they
found the packages so quickly with the tracking lol.
Ones first recovered were in a toner cartridge, and printer.

The white powder found is said to be PETN and are linking this
to al gayda.

The source for the 'tip off' apparently came from the Saudi's.

15 packages in all, only 2 were 'live'

Keep in mind, different sources are still adding and subtracting info.

Heres the kicker, Alex Jones the conspiracy nut is claiming
that he predicted this. I still have to watch the video..

Who are the hot chicks with guns? I'd hit it.

Terrorists should use USPS for their mailing needs....it's cheaper :D
Why would you need tracking on a bomb? Your gonna know exactly where it ends up.....duh
Terrorists are dumb.
