I dont like the idea of twisting a wire in the threads of my lasers.

If I buy some of this stuff will I be able to solder to my aluminum host with a 40W soldering iron?

Amazon.com: Made in USA Aluminum Solder Paste Solder-it Repair Pastes: Arts, Crafts & Sewing

Only review, 1/5 stars:

"I bought this solder specifically because it was supposed to solder aluminum to aluminum, or aluminum to other metals.

Not even close. When soldering, the solder bonded to everything EXCEPT aluminum. It is pretty much normal solder paste.

Don't waste your money."

It doesn't matter what stuff you use when soldering, you cannot solder to big metal mass.

For solder to properly "wet" and adhere to surface, surface needs to be on a soldering temperature. Big metal mass requires either a lot of power, or a lot of time to heat up to soldering temperature because it basically acts like a heatsink.

And I'm pretty sure you can avoid twisting wires into threads in your builds. There is ALWAYS another way to obtain case connection. What setup are you having problem with?

Post pictures and we'll do our best to help!

I have soldered to a big copper plate before,
The problem is that aluminum oxidizes before you can get it hot enought to solder.

I pm'ed RHD and he said he bought somthing like this and it worked,
He didn't say exactly what brand he used though.

Oxidation happens with virtually all metals at high temperature. That's what flux is for.

This is what he used.
