Im assuming it can be done but I have no idea where to start.

Can the output of a spiro or other design system for that matter be passed through adjustable optics to "focus" the design to a desired size?

I would imagine it would require two large lenses and varying the distance between them to adjust the final size. Can anyone help on this?

Im building a set of spiros that I would like to use to project short distances indoors as well as distances as far as 100yards outdoors. Im hoping to have the design be 10' or less at 100 yards.

My first thought was to use a large camera zoom lens...not sure if thats practical in actual use though.

For 100 yards, I think you would need a fairly powerful laser, for it to nice and bright anyway. With a spyro, if you want to use it short distances just move it closer to the wall. It's like a flashlight, if you are 2 feet from the wall, it's going to be a fairly small spot, if it's 20 feet away, the spot is going to be bigger.

I see what you're trying to do but I just think you're making more complicated than it needs to be.

I will be using a 445nm between 1-1.5W for the outside distance stuff. Im currently building a labby for continuous duty.

I get how it works but just like some flashlights the throw diameter can be adjusted. I dont mind if its more complicated if it allows for it to be adjustable.
