Hey Folks. I finally got my Spartan.
Be ready for an Austrian Style Review (Video)
Please note that this is my first Review and my English is not so good
Here are some facts about everything...

First of all:

Payment:

The Payment was quite good
I payed via Bank Transfer , and Frank accepted it within 2 days

Shipping:

It took very very long , cause I ordered it in Chinese New Year
Holiday. The Package was delivered by EMS. I had no Problems with Customs
As the Package arrived in Vienna, The Mail Service called "Post" delivered the laser to the wrong adress -.- .. so the time delay was extended
I received it in ~ 3 weeks
Overall it was OK... better than wait for +4 monts for an arctic :D

The Spartan:

Here some data about it:
Wavelength: 447nm
Power: +-1 Watt (upto spec)
Weight: 269g with Conrad Batteries
Length: 19mm
Width: Front = 3cm , Back = 2cm
Power Source: 2x Cr123a Batteries (3.0-3.2V)

It has a nice solid look and it is not too heavy or to light
I also like it because it looks like my Flashlight xD
It is perfect... It uses two CR123 Batteries.
Mine last 20 min before they ran flat

The Power of the Spartan is amazing
It can burn almost everything instantly
The beam looks nice and it comes out straight
The Duty Cycle of the Spartan is good ... 4 min on - 5 min off

The Batteries:

I use 3.0V Conrad Batteries and they have 650 mAh
Cause they have 3.0V , the laser doesnt heat up fast
I got a runtime of exactly 20 min before they ran flat
Then they require recharging.. In 2 hours they are fully charged

And now some Images + 2 Videos

Here is my EMS Package :)

Unboxed...

The Spartan (Above)

The Spartan (Front)

And the backside with a soft clicky endcap :D

Here are the Batteries

And the Charger

Burned holes in a CD Case

First Beamshot from above

Second Beamshot , better quality

Now a Beamshot in a Sunlighted area ^^

Added a Magnifyer , sunlighted room

Outdoor shot ;)

Here is a Outdoor Video: http://img717.imageshack.us/i/xylq.mp4/
Here is a Burning Video: http://img848.imageshack.us/i/j9e.mp4/

Overall:

The Spartan 1W Laser is an amazing highpowered handheld device
The Shipping took long , but you get what you pay for
When the beam expander comes out.. than it will be a MAD Lazor xD
So in my opinion , it is a great laser for that price:drool:
Here are my Thoughts:

Payment: 10/10:D
Shipping: 6/10 (Not their fault)
Spartan: 10/10 truley amazing:D
Batteries: 9/10 Cause they are hard to get
and they stuck sometimes inside and i dont get them out;)

I would give: 7/10 points ... but only because the shipping

Thanks for watching my Review:angel: (not finished)

Try using a different mode. Look for something like "Daylight" etc if your camera pic's up the blue light "too well".

I would not attempt to try to fix it unless you want to void any warranty and you know what you are doing. As well as if it is even possible to fix. Maybe contact Daguin. See what he says. He Might be able to fix it and have it back to you in No time.:)

Most overseas laser never have a straight beam out of the Aperture. This is more of "if you want to deal with it" Kind of thing.

I dont believe anything is wrong with it. Except for the fact that its not centered. Also Because its not centered it could effect the power of the laser and divergence.

I would contact Dragonlasers. Let them know what is wrong. Iam pretty sure they will replace it. Its the waiting period of sending it back and waiting for you to get it back that most people dont want to deal with.

So Its up to you if you want to deal with it off center.

If this was me. I would send it back or ask Daguin for his Professional Opinion what to do. But i have lots of other laser to play with to keep me busy and it only seems you have just that one. So Dont know what else to say.

Emm... If it does not come from the center , can i use the beam expander when it comes out , or must the beam come out exactly from the center?

The (new) beam expander that will be released soon will work fine even if the beam is not totally straight. For more info you should just ask DragonLasers they know better than we do when considering their products :p

It looks to me like your just over judging it. It's not that far off, it's fine.

It's so funny how our minds go nutz and we can make a Ant into a Elephant.

First, let me tell you that I understand your feeling. We all want our laser to just perfect.

However, judging from the pictures, this is really a non issue.

It is a pity to waste energy for this IMHO. Stop thinking about it and focus on enjoying this laser which is a wonderful peace of technology.
