I ordered a 589nm Aurora GLP-589 from Dragon that's rated at 5mW just a few moments ago. I'm excited! This bad boy is gonna play cameos when I teach my classes! The Spartan needed a little brother lol

I'll be sure to update you guys when it gets here! :D :D :D

You will enjoy it. Due to the lower power, you can appreciate and experiment with the colour more. The Spartan is good for the brightness of the beam, and even light burning. :)

Excellent choice! The Aurora is a great pointer from everything I've heard. I might have to pick one up eventually.

It is a very good laser to have in your collection. You can't go wrong, whether you go for an Aurora or a Spartan. Or have both like I :eg:

Thanks guys! Yellow is my favorite color, can't have enough! I've already got the Spartan who will do just under 100mW. I've recently started doing lectures in my field as a fisheries biologist, and I wanted to be able to use a yellow pointer for my lectures. The cool thing about this purchase is that I'll probably be able to get away with writing it off lol. The Spartan is just FAR too powerful for use in a presentation! When the dot is so bright it can be uncomfortable to look at, the only logical course of action is to buy yet another laser! ;)

What if something happens to them both. Do Dragon Lasers do discounts for bulk buys. :D

No. Sorry, Dragon lasers have their own membership scheme. It would be amazing if they did member discounts for LPF members. Maybe someone should ask.
