Wow, that is a lot of money for this used Ophir thermopile sensor. Good luck on your sale.

Nice head, but I'll eat my hat if someone in this forum pays anywhere near to that amount, I'd list it on ebay at that price with a best offer option.

I don't see anyone paying near that amount for it anywhere. But, I have been wrong before. There may be someone with more money than sense out there just waiting to pounce on this.

it is still a perfect head for now :)

Problem here is the house is mostly full of a bunch of cheap hobbyists... well, it's all relative, this hobby isn't so cheap, less the eight dollar pointers on ebay etc., but professional laser power meter thermopiles like that aren't cheap.

You know that when you buy a new car it drops in value as soon as you leave the lot in it. It is still a used sensor and not a new one.

Re: FS: Ophir 50(150)A-BB-SH-26 P/N 7Z02696 Laser Sensor

I keep looking for Cheap Ophir meters with the sensor on ebay, haven't found low priced complete meters yet. I will probably just buy a Laserbee or Astral LPM instead.

Re: FS: Ophir 50(150)A-BB-SH-26 P/N 7Z02696 Laser Sensor

Yeah... a bit steep for a used OPHIR head that requires
an OPHIR meter to be useful. For near $1000 I wouldn't
want to hack it just to get the Thermopile connections
and Calibration data out of it.

Like was mentioned above... you'd be better off selling
it on eBay. I can't see anyone on LPF needing it.

Good points, Jerry, when I first glanced at this thread, I thought the $1000 cost was for a complete sensor and meter, which still wouldn't be cheap.
This Ophir sensor head is probably well worth it to the right person, but as mentioned previously, most of us are just hobbyists on a budget.

Good luck with your sale, troublesome!

BTW - Congrats on 17,000 posts, Jerry! :yh:

Great link showing why this item is way over priced, RedCowboy. That is what I would expect to pay for this unit if I were looking for one.
