While ive been waiting for my 7135 boards after 2 months from DX, I got lucky and found a spare.

The fan is one of those sunnon mini's which does a half decent job
of keeping the head temp down. It cant maintain a cool temp, but
causes more of a delay and extends run times. I still have to try it
outdoors on a cool night, as the fan may just pull it off.

Lens is glass aixiz, runs on 2x 16340's.

Im selling this without batteries.

No tail clicky on this, it is side button only. The button
also has to be pushed flat to the body before it will fire.
I try to do this with all of my lasers to avoid accidental
power ups.

Asking price is 399. OBO shipped expedited + tracking.
Delivery time of 4 bus. days to the US and express 1-2 day
within Canada.

Comes exactly as pictured...

I'm not quite sure I understand what your saying there.

The temp still builds in the head. The fan is able to extend the 'on time'
but is not able to remove all the heat generated by the diode and driver.

Without the fan, the on time is approx 1/2. With the fan
it allows for longer runs and a c00l whining sound :D

Ill post those details, just waiting for a fresh set of batteries to test with.

Re: F/S Unique 1.4W 445...

I like the Fan installed right into the head...
nice innovation...
Looks like you're getting a hand on the Lathe and
Milling machines...

Have you thought about using a higher CFM fan...

BTW... is your fan blowing into the head or pulling out of
the head....

Have you tried it in the opposite direction... you may possibly
get a better cooling effect in one of the two directions..

I Love this one, the price is quite a bit high.. how long lasts it's maximum run time?

Re: F/S Unique 1.4W 445...

Ok but, if I get that one and turn it On, how much time should pass before it gets too hot..?

WOW.....thats all i can say....

This fan is the smallest I have been able to get a hold of so far.. I have
higher CFM fans, but all are much larger and would not fit.

For its size, its not that bad. Dont know the specific rating for these ones,
but it flows really well for its size.

I cut 10 small ducts / vanes which sit directly under the blades at approx
the same width of the blades. The best air flow seems to be in this config
where the fan is pushing the air through the H/S. When running and the
head begins to heat up, you can feel the warm air exiting the bottom.
The fan also sits flush and no air leaks under the slight pressure. All the
air flow is passing through the head.

Besides, if I flipped the fan around the other way, you would see the wires
that power it. In this arrangement, there are no wires visible outside
of the laser.

Maybe 2 fans for the next one, one to push and one to pull the air through
the head..

Its not continuous duty is all he is saying

Exactly... Im guessing I would have to reduce the power out from the
laser down to 7-900mW for the fan to be able to handle a continuous run.

Ok but, if I get that one and turn it On, how much time should pass before it gets too hot..?

I will update in a couple of hours. I finished this at 6am'ish, and still have to put
it through its paces to get those numbers. For its size, there is a decent amount
of heatsinking already, just have to determine the duty cycle for it.

Run time is also dependent on ambient temp. Its cool at night here, and am going
to see how much of a difference that makes. I will be testing with full batt's,
and each run from a cold start.

EDIT*

Runtime on average seems to be 10-15min on and 5mins off. Even at 10mins
on, the laser only gets warm. As long as the airflow is not impeded,
it manages to keep itself cool

That fan should be this Sunon 9000 RPM. 1.2 CFM. 21 dBA.

BTW....very cool.

Re: F/S Unique 1.4W 445...

LOL awesome. This is just supercool
Love the industrial look.

Re: F/S Unique 1.4W 445...

nice unit... did you wire the fan with the diode/driver or did you wire to the batt.?

Edit: Also just a thought try a three way switch so you could run the fan in the off duty cycle so it can cut the cool down times.

Re: F/S Unique 1.4W 445...

The ma on that fan is minimal. You could mill the other side to fit one. They will not usually run reverse polarity. Then notch the wire exit tray so the wires could feed in before leaving the frame and fill the tray with black silicone. This would give you a nice push - pull setup. Also a small thin plastic deflector inside to guide the intake airflow past the rear of the heat sink. If you are running off the main battery supply and its 3 Li-ions its doing more than 9000rpm. I ran mine and it didn't kill the motor. I can put a marked disk on the hub and get an actual rpm with an optical tach if you'd want it. I'd guess with 2 right of the battery it would be moving abt 2cu/ft a min. That would help you "on" time. I did find a 25mm fan that does 4 cu/ft @ 5v. 5mm for 4x the airflow?

Let me know.
