I had some time over the weekend, so I made up a few lasers. All of these have the 445nm diode harvested from a Casio XJ-A140 projector. The all have either the MicroFlex or the MicroBoost driver from drlava. They all come with a single 18650 battery. They will all come with the AixiZ 445nm glass lens. The outputs listed below are with the 405-G-1 lens form Jayrob, but you will have to order one of them from him yourself if you want it.

At these high of outputs, I recommend you limit the length of your duty cycles. I tested them at 60 seconds. However, above ~900mA, these diodes create a lot of heat. Let them cool down between burns ;)

From the top down --

SOLD The first is in an Ehgemus custom host. The switch in the tail can be used as a momentary switch with a slight depressing and as a clicky switch with pressing it farther. It is putting out 1.2W with the 405-G-1 lens. It is $250 shipped in the US

SOLD The second is in a Jayrob Stainless Steel 18650 host. It has a tail clicky. It is putting out 1.1W with the 405-G-1 lens. It is $250, shipped in the US

SOLD PENDING FUNDING
The third is in the Jayrob black 18650 host. This one has a slight beam artifact. The diode did not press squarely into the module. The result is a small "flare" that you can see at a distance. It does not affect the beam for star pointing or the ability to burn up close. However, it can be seen when shining the spot on a wall at several meters. I decided to offer it at a discount rather than to rebuild it. It is putting out 850mW with the 405-G-1 lens. If no one wants a "deal" I'll rebuild it and sell it for $250. Shipped as is, it is $200, shipped in the US

International shipping will be additional $

Re: FS: 3 @ 445nm Lasers (1.2W, 1.1W, & 850mW)

very nice!!!! my buddy is looking for custom built 445 i will tell him and get back with yahh..

Re: FS: 3 @ 445nm Lasers (1.2W, 1.1W, & 850mW)

love the blue clicky switch..... damn why dont i have any money right now.....

Re: FS: 3 @ 445nm Lasers (1.2W, 1.1W, & 850mW)

Tempting! These are nice-looking builds. I'd be after that 1.2W beast yesterday, were I not committed to a build of my own with the diode I got from you last month.

very tempting and nice looking lasers. I'm still looking to buy my first laser and these look amazing. shame I just moved out and am limited on cash. nice lasers though

Re: FS: 3 @ 445nm Lasers (1.2W, 1.1W, & 850mW)

Which of these would you say probably has the best heat dissipation?

And are they all focusable?

The Stainless Steel 18650 host/kit has the biggest "heat sink" and transfers heat to the host body very well.

They are all focusable

The Ehgemus is all heat sink, but I need to get some thermal paste (I ran out :yabbem:) for the threads to get the heat to transfer more quickly to the body.

Peace,
dave

Three more:

Does the middle (Stainless 18650) host feel relatively heavy/solid/durable? I know that a lot of DX hosts are made of fairly thin, clunky sheet metal that makes them feel like those cheap $2 LED flashlights at the checkout line at Home Depot.

Do any of them include an 18650 charger?

Is the SS18650's clicky button GITD, or is that just a camera trick?

It feels good in the hand. It weighs in at a hefty 190 grams with the battery.

They do not come with a charger. I can include one for an additional $10.

The tail clicky cap is actually a light blue. The GITD appearance is a trick of the camera flash.

hey dave, quick question. are those lasers focused to infinity in the picture, or just randomly focused?

They are focused to about 30 feet (the distance from my desk to the front wall of the house ;) )

The AixiZ glass lens sits up "higher" than the 405-G-1 lens

Peace,
dave

Re: FS: 445nm Laser 850mW

Only the black 18650 left. I have a couple of inquiries about rebuilding it. I have to run out of town till Fri night or Sat morn. If it doesn't sell before I get back, I will rebuild it for one of the people who have asked about it

Peace,
dave

Re: FS: 445nm Laser 850mW

Its really cool to see all the custom lasers. I was curious, what divergence does the lens give these lasers?

Re: FS: 445nm Laser 850mW

Got my laser (the middle one - 1.1W in the SS 18650 host) today, and it is AMAZING. No complaints whatsoever. Fast shipping. Extremely bright. Burns well. Very solid, durable host. No rattle inside. Focus ring is great.

Great builder, and I'll definitely buy from him again if I need something!

Re: FS: 445nm Laser 850mW

I just built my 445nm laser with the Aixiz 405 glass lens with AR coating, 3405 host with heatsink, microboost driver and a LG 18650 3.7v battery. All seems to work ok but after about 40 seconds the laser starts to blink like its overheating. Is this the case or is it something else?
