I am considering selling my high power 445nm laser.
It was fun for a while, but I am building something less powerful for casual use.

I am asking $255 shipped USPS priority with delivery confirmation to USA.
Price without hi-power lens will be $199. Offers may be considered.

This laser will peak over 1W if it is in cooler temperatures.
The diode is temperature sensitive. However, it should maintain >900mW for 2 mintues continuous use no problem. Cooler operating temperatures are ideal.

It is an A130 diode set ~1A (I set it at 1A and adjusted it for highest power and best stability, so I do not have an exact measure) with a MicroBoost driver. The components are contained and sealed inside the heatsink module, however, if lower power is desired, I can set it lower and seal it back up.

Total use on the diode is around 3 or 4 hours.

Some specs:
Diode: A130 @ ~1A
Lens: LarryDFW Hi-Power 405nm
Output power: ~980mW
Host: Cree A10B; matte black enamel coated
Battery: 1X 18650
Heatsink: Solid brass machined by Flaminpyro
Recommended Duty cycle: 2 minutes on; 2 minutes off
Current draw from battery: ~2.4A

Note: I can make this laser water resistant. This would remove the ability to focus it, however. The window will reduce power ~8%, give or take a few. This laser will still burn when focused to infinity.

Also, I can take $56 off the asking price if you would rather me ship it with an Aixiz acrylic/no lens for someone who would rather use an Aixiz 445 glass. Power will be ~15% less with Aixiz acrylic. In this case, about 150mW less.

Here are some pictures: 445nm Laser - a set on Flickr

Keep in mind, I reserve the right to be picky about potential buyers.

Hey RA_p....
What kind of $$$ are you looking for..
I'm sure posting the selling price would help your sale..

I forgot to include cost of the drive in the price. Sorry.
I'm not together today. :o

Re: Feeler: 445nm ~980mW

Any idea on the divergence?

With the Hi-power lens, it's not too great, but it's good enough for pointing out stars.
With the Aixiz glass, it is much better. I haven't measured for exact mRad, but IIRC most report something in the neighborhood of 1.8mRad for the fast axis and 0.8 for the slow axis. That's the best you will get without cylindrical or anamorphic prism correction.

This laser is not a "pointer" so it should not be expected to perform or be used like one.

Holy crap, that is a really nice looking host. Did you build this yourself? Where does this host come from?

Thanks.
Yes I assembled it. The host model is listed under the specs in the first post. ;)

Re: Feeler: 445nm ~980mW

If I were to purchase it with the Acrylic lens, how difficult would it be to replace it with a Glass lens myself later if I decide to purchase one?

Not difficult at all. It's just the same as swapping out any lens in an Aixiz module.
