G'day,

Saw these pop up in a eBay search:
New Mitsubishi 635-638nm 180mw ML520G55/Single Mode Laser Diode | eBay

Seems to be very similar to the Opnext 637nm 170mW, tiny bit worse divergence, same LCC style, and a lil cheaper too.

Anyone buy one yet?

Fiddy.

Hmm, interesting, ~5W of red.

But how much? 7.000$? Like 488nm 20mW diodes?

Who knows if it'll drop in price though? I know I would have never predicted the market to flood with cheap 445nm laser diodes, so I'll wager an "it's not impossible!"

Why do these people never freakin put the emitter size on the spec sheets? Divergence information is useless without that.

3-5 watts of red??!! damn then green will become the weak link in RGB projectors again!

RHD owns one. I was about to buy one too, but then the diodes from Rayfoss popped up.

I missed this the first time around.

Actually - I (had) the HL63133DG from Opnext. Similarly spec'd diode. I'm wondering about this ML520G55 now. If they're rating it at 180mW, I wonder if it can be pushed to 250, 300, etc?

The Opnext can't be, but maybe Mitsubishi has a different approach with the spec'ing of their diodes. Has anyone actually ordered a ML520G55 and tested it?
