Repair Wire From Driver in Pill

Hey all, I recently began building a 1W 445nm laser. I decided to use the popular $1.99 DX driver along with a Cree C6 flashlight shell. Once I pressed the driver's retaining ring into the driver pill, I accidentally ripped the positive output wire of the driver out :cryyy:. I can always order another flashlight/driver from DX, but I really don't want to spend the time or money. Does any body have any advice as to how to reconnect the wire? The contact point is clearly visible through the wire hole. I tried put pry the ring out, but to no avail. Thanks.

I'm having a hard time imagining the situation without pictures.
Sorry I don't have one of these drivers.

Can't you solder things back in place?

Also when building a 445nm, 2$ for a driver is not much to worry about.
I understand how waiting for another month for it to arrive would be nerve wracking.
