Is there difference in quality of laser pointers offered by Atlasnova at: atlasnova.com/GreenLaserPointer.htm

and Nova at:
novalasers.com/NOVAstore/pc/viewPrd.asp?idcategory=10&idproduct=46

I need ~5 mW reliable and low power consuming pointer for a lot of class work.

there are no diodes for green they use ir and crystals to make green

do any of you readers know of any sites that sell diodes???

If you mean red diodes than there are a variety of ways you can obtain one.

I know senkat sells diodes already taken out of a 16x burner and even pre installed inside a housing. These are powerful red laser diodes. You can also do the work yourself and actually take the diode out of the DVD burner but then again its a waste of money when you can buy one for cheap.

If you mean green diode, then you are out of luck. They dont make green diodes and apparently dont know how yet for large industry that would be cost efficient. Instead, they use infrared diodes which measure 808nm and another higher nanometer which i conveniently forget :D

They add a KTP crystal that doubles the frequency of the IR light. That basically means it cuts the wavelength in half so you go from infrared to 532 green light.

Its complex and i would NOT advise you to do it or even try it on your own as youll likely lose some money in the process and end up with nothing to show for it.

lol its length is 808 nano meters, it would take an electron microscope to see that ;D.

...lazer... ;D ;D ;D
