* All cells are button top cells and make contact in series. They will also make contact with most lights, where flat top cells have issues.

* All IC's used are the highest quality available and are imported from Japan. For are 2200 and 2600 cell, the IC is set to prevent the cell from being discharged below ~2.75v (recommended by the cell manufacturer). Our 2900 cell has low voltage cutoff protection @ ~2.5v (as recommended by the cell manufacturer). Over charge protection is set for 4.28v on the 2200 and 2600 cell and 4.3v on the 2900 cell.

* The design of the PCB allows for discharge currents slightly over 2C. This however exceeds the 2C limit for the Li-ion chemistry. Please do not discharge the cells at rates over 2C.

IMO these are probably a bit expensive, but probably better quality then the dx/laptop batteries i have:D anyone done any testing on these?

These are protected cells, so they´re bigger than unprotected cells and WON´T FIT into the Arctic.
 
They look a lot like AW cells...

The shiny label is similar, but that’s where the similarities end. ;)

All of my cells are made by Top companies (ie Samsung, Sanyo, Panasonic) where most if not all of AW's cells are made in China.

All of my IC (Integrated Circuits) are made in Japan, so the cell will always properly terminate within specs.

I've tested AW's cells and I've had some of his cells down to 2.2-2.3v under load with the PCB never tripping! Over discharging a cell is very bad for it!

These are no cheapo cells. You are paying for a quality cell with a quality protection circuit. These cells will last 100's of cycles, unlike some of the cheapo cells you see on DX.

I´m happy with my 18650s (except for the 1300mAh Arctic 18650), but if I need one I´m going to come back to you.
The thing is that my lasers and my flashlights need unprotected, shorter cells.
 
Really, most 18650 lasers won't accomadate a 68mm 18650 cell? Seems strange that laser companies wouldn't make them a tad longer so they would fit a protected cell (much safer).
 
The one thing I've wondered is why can't they make the cells themselves about 3mm shorter to account for the protection circuit? Or is it just not possible with the manufacturing methods used?

Oh its definitely possible, and I've seen it done, but not by any big name companies.

The cells I'm using are from big name companies Panasonic, Sanyo and Samsung.

They make these batteries for primarily laptops, and they can't be bothered to make a cell tailored to the flashlight or laser industry because the quantity isn't high enough.

Just post us the first reviews from CPF and I´m sure some here (including myself) are going to jump on this.
