Sounds to me like you may have an unfiltered laser on your hands. When you get your meter, it'll be interesting to see what it measures with and then without an IR filter

Re: DX 50 mW non-true received today

I'm planing on getting the LPM-1 (meter) and wondering if I should go out and buy a separate IR filter so the meter does'nt read any extra IR from some of my cheaper lasers.

Someone else said to just move the laser a few feet away to allow the IR to diverge far enough so its energy is negated.   Anyone have an opinion on this?

I realize placing another filter infront of the sensor would also reduce measured green output slightly as well and that would have to be factored in.

btw first post here and I'm also on CPF's...Same name

Re: DX 50 mW non-true received today

i have 6x newwish clones on me right now
i have my die4thing meter as well
unfortunately i cant switch to test different wavelengths and stuff
I tested one and its averaging 55mW (green + ir)
ill test the other 5 tomorrow, cuz im dead tired from my 13 hours on campus

oh and the Hulk is averaging 230mW with old 1.2v c batteries. Going to test it with new 1.5v energizers tomorrow

i love my meter so much =]
