Hey guys,

I'm buying the parts needed for my first build: a C6 + A140 + 18V 5W Cree Driver. So...
I need some information regarding these battery types and their differences:

RCR123a vs. CR123 (or CR123a)
I know 2 X RCR123a work in the C6 host, but is the CR123 or CR123a the same size and will it work as well?

3v vs. 3.7v
What is the difference b/w these who types of Li-ions? Can I use 3v for my application? When should I use one over the other?

Li-ion vs. LiMN
On lighthound, they sell LiMN batteries which are apparently much safer and won't explode. Can they be used in any application a Li-ion battery is used?

Please educate me :can:

You want 16340 cells. The name is almost interchangeable with CR123, but CR123 usually denotes primary cells.

3V cells might not be enough since it is a buck driver. 3.7 is a more widely used voltage, so stick with that one if you can. I think the capacity also tends to be higher.

Li-ion cells offer better capacity while LiMN can deliver higher currents. Either should work for you.

These work really well:

AW RCR123a Protected 750 mAh Battery

You definitely want 3.7v for a laser, make sure you have a charger for 3.7v, don't use the 3.7v in certain flashlights known only to take 3v.

Or if you want an extension tube,

Battery Extension Tube

You can use two of these or some other 18650,

Ultrafire 18650 Protected 3000mAh Rechargeable Lithium Battery

I think your driver puts out 1.2A stock, if that matters. It can be modded higher.

ultrafire batteries are some of the worst batteries you can buy AVOID AT ALL COSTs
they are the rejects of the production line like returned laptops recalls ect.

why an a-140 diode the m-140 diodes are more efficient and from what I've seen can take a lil more current a lil better

A140 are cheaper. IMO, pay for the wavelength. Who cares if it only does 1.4W instead of 1.9W? You'll still go blind just as quickly...

Yep, that's true, although I doubt that you'd actually notice any real world changes. You could also shove a potato into an aixiz and focus it with a skittle if you really wanted to  It's all about personal preference, and whether or not certain properties are valuable to a person. I have a tendency to forget this :undecided:
