Hi, first time here, but need some help with a choice.

I'm looking to getting a new laser and don't know which one to go with.

#1 Optotronics 100mW green pen. $146
#2 Rayfoss 100mw focusable green with battery and charger. $75

I'm leaning towards the Rayfoss because it lower priced and includes a battery with the charger. The only downside is that it will take longer to ship and if it will be up to the quality of the Opto pen.

I'm questioning the quality because I recently bought a 50mW green pen from Ledshoppe and had it die on me with less than a few minutes use. And so it is causing me to question cheaper lower priced lasers.

So what I'm really asking is, Will the Opto pen laser be worth the price paid?

Opto. Optotronics has an excellent reputation here, and they're known for selling better quality systems than most Chinese sellers.

Optotronics, without a doubt.

Batteries and charger are secondary, inexpensive and available anywhere. The quality of the laser is the real concern here.
:D

My first post...I ordered a 100mw from opto, should get it tomorrow. This is my first over 5mw laser and I will post my thoughts, If it will help in any way.

Opto is a success with there pens, cause they are usually 10mW more then the said output! the 100mW is likely to be like 120mW , and I seen reviews from people who bought the 150mW version and got 175mW from it!!! Amazing knowing it's in pen size, and for the price? 175mW is crazy good

That opto 150 mW is a beautiful laser. Have good luck with it and watch out for your eyes. I think I will buy this baby too. Take care.Jims19.

Try Rayfoss laser with express shipping. It will cost some extra shipping fee, but it still more cheaper than Optotronics.

Thanks everyone. I think I will get the Optotronics pen.

As for the Rayfoss, I'm going to pass on it. I've learned too many times you always get what you pay for.
