It runs on a 10440 Li-ion. The driver is an Odic Force.

The heat sink for this build is tiny but the low power makes it more than adequate. It is all press fit so I cant take it apart and I forgot to take pictures before I assembled it unfortunately but I converted the host into a positive ground and fit the driver, module and contact spring in the head

Next to a 250mW LOC. Its amazing how bright it is at only 41mW!

Compared to a 260mW LOC you can see its a bit more orange and amazingly bright for being less than 1/6 as powerful.

Interested... :) What kind of diode is that exactly?

Is it the same as available on Modwerx?

they're the 40mw sanyos that were on ebay, but there aren't any left :(

I'd be interested, but I'm waiting to see how the other bargain 638nm diodes turn out...

It is a Sanyo rated at 40mW. Some have driven them up to 80mW. 40mW will give it long life and keep the wavelength within tolerances. This diode is no longer made but there are some available for $200+ (just for the diode). Modwerx are only 7mW last I checked.

I always sell stuff within the first few hours or even minutes  maybe I need to charge more haha.

Mostly it was just some fun lasering last night, that made me realize I really want to see more wavelengths... a 200mW build would be great, but pretty expensive so for now I'm definitely not doing one, but this... it's a steal to see a new color IMO. (New to me.)
