Just about all lasers have a duty cycles, even the ones WL sells as no duty cycle. The ones that truly have no duty cycles go into the thousands in most cases. Heat is the diodes worst enemy. It will kill the diode faster.
I can get an unlimited duty cycle green labby (2W) @ around double the advertised power of the krypton (1W) for about $1200. (portable with extension cords!)
Not so good with converting wavelength and power to miles, but that WILL go far
Joe or Harold are the people you want to talk to. Nothing against Flamin, but he makes heat sinks, not hosts. The 2 people I listed can make you a complete custom host. The whole host becomes the heat sink, and you'll get far better run times than just a heat sink stuck in a flash light, no matter how big it is.
Thanks for the awsome replies. Yeah what I am trying to get is a pretty similar thing to my krypton. Just a bit better. I dont mind paying the money that it may cost. I just want something that has a nice duty cycle that I wouldnt have to worry about turning off every 2 minutes.
I was looking into Orange Lasers and Blue Lasers.
Price isnt really much of an issue. Just want something GOOD
IF its custom build Id want something really custom lol not something most people could get >=D
Well, I'll just say this. You won't have much luck with amber-orange color and super-high visibility. 445nm (450nm) is probably the best option out of your two, go for one of Harold's hosts for something different. However, if the budget allows for some bigger $$ go for 473nm or 589nm, much more "unique" colors.
odd question, the brightness we perceive is part W and part scattering, and part eyeball. but yes if you point a laser up, its goes up, a laser is EM radiation and we only see a tiny tiny tiny % of the EM spectrum. A regular 532nm DPSS green laser is the brightest of common lasers to a common eyeball. W for W
