Hello.

I just purchaced a laser light from ThinkGeek :: Green Laser Pointer II.

It is <5mW, 532nm. A class IIIa Laser.

I was wondering if anyone knows the laws specific to Queensland, Australia.

So far I havent been able to find recent or Queensland specific laws and this would be a great help.

Thanks heaps.

To my understanding, all of ausrtalia follows the same laser laws of <1mw.
Sadly, this is highly likely to get confiscated.

Yep, but to improve your chances of it not getting confiscated, you can tell them to ship the batteries separately and tell them to label the laser as 1mw.

Good Luck!

Oh, I already have the laser.

I just want to know if I should be a little more careful.

I remember seeing something about visible beams being ok if it's for astronomy.

I do a little bit of very amature astronomy. (I have a $150 telescope ive used 3 or 4 times) Could I get away with having it if I use that excuse?
