PT54 Soldered directly onto Heatsink

I had a lot of free time today, here is what I acomplished lol:

I Soldered it by putting the whole heatsink in a frying pan for half an hour :D

Only problem now is I cant seem to solder the electical leads with my regular 60W soldering station
Because the heatsink is working to well!
I keep getting cold solder joints

Lol did you use a giant TIG welder on the poor thing? I hope the die survived the heat!

Now light it up!

The Thermal transfer of a solder joint is better than any TIM.

I Just did a 20 min test with this setup and and stock PT54 hs from the projector.
Both were ran at 3A and started at room temp.

after 20 mins the LED on the stock HS was 58c
the LED on my heatsink was 42c

Doesnt apear to be any damrage,
When shineing them on my LPM I get about 1W each (Running at 3A)

Damn dude, soldering onto copper isn't fun. I managed to find a CPU heatsink with a back-plate that, conveniently, had a hole that fit the projector's lens + heatsink-mount perfectly:
