Yeah it most probably was a cheap greenie from a chinese street merchant. They are all over here in Greece.

This is really bad. Imagine if some terrorist group started making 12x 405nm or 200 mw greenie builds. They could distribute them to protesters, football hooligans and general malcontents.

Ah well, lasers can be used for any purpose... in case you would want to harm police forces i guess a YAG (or even CO2) would prove useful with minimal aid from a green or red targetting laser.

Then again, the concept of rioters using lasers does have merit - especiallly when the need is to destroy security cams, which can be very effective with any near-IR device.
