I am machining a custom heat sink for standard 5.6mm diode; does anyone know the correct diameter hole required to achieve a correct press fit? The heat sink material is copper.

Thanks and regards,

I drill mine at 5.5mm, just make sure the copper is at room
temp before drilling the final size. If its still hot from working
the copper, you may take too much and have a loose fit.

Im afraid that lens will make the divergence worse.
Though on the bright side you will get additional power
out compared to the common aixiz lenses.

To get the divergence down you're going to need additional
optics on top of the collimator.

Ive used corrective optics with an aspheirc with decent results.
These are the aspherics ive used.

If you dont want to add more optics, the 3 element aixiz lenses
are your best bet.. With the same correction optics the 3 element
also give a tighter beam, but less power..

BTW, thats a nice looking lens. You should post a comparison in output
vs the 3 element aixiz if you have...

Edit.. oopps just read the other thread and missed some info.. lol.
Hadnt realized it was larger. I doubt it will compare to an aixiz for
divergence, but should be better than the G-1. minus some output
of course.

When the build is finished I will post the results of the beam using this lense.
