i built a some what portable ir i used a 2d cell flashlight thanks to disma for help on the psu :D. heres a vid of it.

Nice! I need to make one of those, I already have the CVS camera modded for IR, but no IR goggles yet.

I'm 44 and I've seen them in concert. I can't believe I forgot it was them. I'm a music nut. :D

yup there are some of us old folks in this hobby ;D i wish i had started it soon in my life just thinking of the stuf i could have colected over the years ::)

about $100 the only thing i had to buy is the diode and diode houseing the rest was stuff i had ;)

that's pretty nice. It's portable enough IMO.
I'd consider making one once I recover from lot of recent expenses...that is, if it's not too hard
anyways, any idea of battery life?
