Phun with Phosphor

I was playing around with the phosphor wheel from a projector. Shining a 445nm laser onto the phosphor wheel is possibly the brightest thing I've ever seen. I wouldn't recommend looking at it without some good glasses on.
A couple of the pics are of me shinning a laser through a dismantled projector. It's pretty cool how you can get a pretty good idea of how they use blue laser light to create green light. And it definitely creates an abundance green light. That's just one laser diode shinning off the phosphor. I am still amazed.

Yeah they look about 2 inches wide. That's not all of the optics. A few different lenses are missing. I just put it back together enough to show how it works. The 8x lens is actually glass. I thought it was plastic at first but it's cast glass.
