G'day,

Just got a couple Phatlght units from dtr,

what voltage/current should i run the on-board TEC at?

I did some searching and came up with 12V & 5V, although these values had no reference to the Phatlight TEC.

Cheers!

Fiddy.

The LED functions at a forward voltage of 2.6 V @ 13.5 amps...

i'l look for some info on the TEC

Lol, direct drive it with some lifep04 batts and monitor the current with some low resistance leads

i ordered 3x 9A buckdrivers for these puppies :)

i first used my china test leads and it would get like 2 amps at the LED and the PS was pumping out 5.2A lol

Grabbed some 1.5mm2 (house lighting cable) and she lit up pretty nice.

Have you got a phatlight?

Oh wow!

Make a few thrower lights out of em!

Just an idea, you can buy 2 of these (one to mod and one to keep :D)since they have a large pill mass and head and you will have some good throwing lights... Although, im not sure if the tailcap can handle it :p

Ahh, the good ol' Maglite :)

You can get some awesome throw from the deep reflector in them, btw, are you going to use the stock mag reflector or the rebel? The rebel is deeper.

Can't wait to see it bro!

From some circuit analysis on the TEC driver a bit ago (but have lost the back of the envelope I was drawing it on), I believe it's 12V, but I'm not too sure about the current. It's probably like 3-4 amps for a ~30-40W TEC.
