I got a good quote from CNI on this laser, PGL-III-C-473 and I am considering purchasing it. Do any members have experiences or opinions with this laser? Would it be worth getting the 50mw version (it is surprisingly cheap) or going with a lower wattage? Anything else I should know before I buy from CNI. I hope this is the correct forum for this question.

Can't post links since I don't have ten posts yet but it is pretty easy to find on CNI's webpage.

CNI is a good manufacturer and they supply several of the most reputable companies on this forum. They are a good company. However, since they normally sell to distributors, they charge a lot for shipping (anywhere between $50-$100).
Also, since they are a manufacturer, although their prices are lower, they will classify their lasers differently than some of the distributors, so you may get more or less than what you pay for (but I'm not saying they're scammers).
Also, it is rare to find a portable DPSS 473nm laser that truly outputs a stable and sustained 50mW. That's what makes me skeptical.
I've never had personal experience with Opto, but many members here will tell you Optotronics has the best deals on portable ClassIII blues. Jack (the seller) offers models up to 40mW (I think) and he will test your laser before he ships and will include a power graph to verify output.

It is indeed very easy to find CNI since they have an ad at the top of the page

10mW $420.00
20mW $480.00
30mW $550.00
40mW $650.00
50mW $750.00

Seem like relatively good prices to me (these are for one unit not 10, bulk was cheaper) but I don't really know so thats why I'm asking here.

Dude that is cheap!! I would love to know what you think of it if you get it!!

The 50mW model is just $15 per mW thats good for 473nm ;D

The best price for green is around $2 per mW. Any lower and I'll question quality.

This is not a labby btw it is their weird big handheld unit thing. I'd like to think the bigger size means its heat sinked better.
